Roadrunner Transportation Systems, Inc. provides asset-right transportation and asset-light logistics services. The company operates through three segments: Truckload & Express Services (TES), Less-than-Truckload (LTL), and Ascent Global Logistics. The TES segment provides air and ground expedite, scheduled truckload, intermodal, temperature-controlled truckload, and other truckload and logistics services; and arranges the pickup and delivery of TES freight through its 35 TES service centers in the United States. It also offers temperature-controlled, dry van, intermodal drayage and chassis management, and flatbed services; and specializes in the transport of automotive and industrial parts, paper products and steel, and frozen and refrigerated foods, including dairy, poultry, meat, and beverages, as well as on-demand ground and air expedited services. The LTL segment is involved in the pickup, consolidation, linehaul, deconsolidation, and delivery of LTL shipments in the United States and Canada through 40 LTL service centers and approximately 150 third-party delivery agents. The Ascent Global Logistics segment offers domestic and international transportation and logistics solutions; domestic freight management solutions, including asset-backed truckload brokerage, specialized/heavy haul, LTL shipment execution, LTL carrier rate negotiations, access to its transportation management system, and freight audit/payment. This segment also provides international air and ocean freight forwarding, customs brokerage, regulatory compliance, project management, warehousing, and retail consolidation services. It operates through a network of approximately 50 independent brokerage agents, direct sales force, company brokers, and sales representatives.
